Reviews
Best bahn mi in St Louis! Best spring rolls in St Louis! The ingredients are fresh. Service is fast and the guys taking orders are super nice. I can’t enough nice things about The Bahn Mi Shop. Whenever I’m in the Loop I try to stop in for a sandwich. And the menu is a good size. Enough for you to have a different combination each time you go but not too big where you’re lost in the choices. 10/10! Will always recommend if you’re in the mood and in the area
Good - Fresh - French Bread is everything and The Banh Mi Shop nails it. Lightly toasted - fresh - crisp veggies - flavorful - moist proteins - check all the boxes.
Clean and inviting atmosphere. Friendly greeted upon entry. Was my first time - but will now be a part of my lunch rotation.
I got the lemon grass chicken - on point (Will get double meat next time). Spring Rolls - got the Lemongrass Chicken (apparently its a lemongrass kind of day) - was nice size - and filled with fresh veggies - professionally rolled. I could eat these daily. Will be coming back for the grilled beef based on the owner's recommendation.
Food is made to order - took less than 5 mins - I had mine to go and a "Thank You Gummy" in the well portioned bag was a nice touch.
As for parking - it's the loop - so people giving this shop a bad review because of parking - I suspect are county folks who expect to be able to pull up in front and a red carpet automatically rolls out to meet their camo birks (I digress). You can park for free on Washington Ave and 20 - 30 steps up Melville Ave and the Shop is right there. Washington Ave is where the students live and walk daily. Do not let parking be the reason you don't treat yourself to a fantastic culinary experience.
I meant to take a pic of the actual meal - but literally devoured every morsel before thinking to do so - Will snap pics on next visit soon - Believe that!!! :)
Got the bbq pork and chicken bahn mi sandwiches and they were pretty good! Meat was on drier end. Wish there was more sauce and taste to the vegetable fillings
Banh mi isn't that complicated, but much like "Philly cheese steak", many restaurants have no qualms just sticking this label on any loosely related sandwich.
Not here. This is legit. Perfect bread, good selection of proteins on the menu, and nothing that shouldn't be there. And did I mention the perfect bread? If you're a fan of banh mi, this is where to get it.
I would give The Banh Mi Shop 10 stars in each category if I could! The food is amazing and the owner and staff are extremely kind. They are always give us someting in addition to what we ordered such as a drink or some candy. I introduced my sons to spring rolls at this restaurant and they love them. This is one of our favorite places to eat in The Loop. Try it for yourself and you will not be disappointed.
Nice, quick service and good food. I had the noodle bowl with lemongrass chicken and spring rolls which I thought were both good. They have a decent list of sandwiches which I look forward to trying.
Amazing sandwiches. The bread they use is great. I love going here, especially with other people.
Overpriced and the sandwich isn’t as good as other banh mi shops in Dallas. The buns weren’t crisp on outside and soft on the inside like they are supposed to be. The shop is on the smaller end so seating consists of large shared tables. Service was fast and friendly though.
